The IOXIO Duo ceramic sharpener meets all the requirements of sharpening European and Japanese knives thanks to its patented 2-in-1 technology with a single ceramic sharpening rod.
Two Sharpening Rods in one:
In contrast to sharpening steels, the sharpness of ceramic sharpening rods is not only achieved by straightening the blade, but also by material removal. If the sharpening rod is used regularly, a new basic grinding is not necessary. Regularly means that at least after every third use, the blade is pulled briefly over the sharpening rod. Once the knife is really dull, it is difficult to restore the cutting edge. The removal of the ceramic sharpening rods is too small for this. The abrasion of the blade can be seen from the stripes on the ceramic.
The staff will become clogged with time. This is not a bad thing, but illustrates the function and hardness. Clean your sharpening rods with a rough kitchen sponge and a little washing-up liquid to keep the abrasion low.
The blades become even sharper when the stick is used wet. The sharpening rod is also easier to clean.
All IOXIO Sharpening Rods are made of aluminum oxide ceramic. They combine the hardness of the grindstone with the shape of the conventional sharpening steel. The Ceramic Sharping Rods achieves a material abrasion on the blade, whereby it is ground and reshaped on the cutting edge. IOXIO Ceramic Sharpening Rods are not coated. They consist of a all-ceramic wielding staff and do not wear off when sharpening.
